stupid degrading phone

i am interested in marketing and branding.
i work for one of the MOST easily identifiable brands in the world.
i sell computers.
and now apparently i work for an evil wireless service provider and sell phones too.

yeah, we sold phones before, you are probably pretty familiar with those touch screen devices all over the tv and blogosphere. But i hate it. If i had known that my job would have devolved into a glorified wireless service kiosk i would have never taken this job 14 months ago. Selling cell phones is very annoying, honestly it's degrading. The difference between selling a computer and selling a phone is like going to a restaurant where they prepare your food versus one where they just fucking microwave it.

I don't like microwave food, i don't like microwave service. I hate everything about cell phones and the mega conglomonopolized  (nice word eh?) Telco's and pimp us for shitty service and shittier plastic cellphones they sell to us for hundred of dollars. if my cell phone costs 1/5th of my computer why can't it do 1/5th of the things at AT
LEAST 1/5th of the damn speed. Just so i can send a few text messages every month, call up my friends, weed dealer and chat with my mom and grandmom why the hell do i have to pay upwards of $70? the phone we sell has plans that start at $70 and that doesn't even include text messages. and get this  there are 3 options 200 texts, 1500 and unlimited. WTF can i get something in between 200 and 1500? 1500 is pretty much fucking unlimited. they do this shit on purpose. they calculate these things so they can offer you as little as possible and make the most.

Why are cell phone companies so INTENT on offering me so damn little?

we aren't even close to the functionality that cell phones and providers offer in other localities like japan, korea or europe. why can't i order pizza with my phone with out having to call the bastards? why can't i get a cell phone thats not entirely made out of plastic. 4 ounces of plastic and circuitry did not cost any cell phone manufacturer $350 to freakin' make! not to mention service providers are just middle men between the manufacturers and the customers, marking up the prices crazy, it's obvious they could afford to give away every phone on the market with a 2 year contract. (which will never happen)

the worst part is people are still too simple minded NOT to be enamored by these over priced crappy little devices. our attention spans are so short and our grasp of anything that is not immediate is pretty much non existent we will shell out our whole paycheck for a phone with one (possibly two) improved feature(s) and a small cosmetic change. and 90% of the people buying the phone have little if any use for it or 90% of the features their little mobile device encompasses.

american cell phone companies are run like communist countries, and i hate it.
